Ankle Fractures

Ankle fractures can be as simple as an avulsion (pulling off) of a piece of bone to a complete break in the tibia, fibula, or both of these bones. The simple ankle fracture can often be treated nonsurgically; the more severe ankle fracture will likely need surgical repair.

Your podiatrist will obtain X-rays of the ankle to determine the extent of the injury and then discuss a recommended treatment plan with you.
