At Advanced Foot and Ankle Care in Loveland, Colorado, we offer a variety of treatment approaches designed to maximize the time you spend healthy and engaged in your favorite activities – and minimize the downtime associated with foot or ankle issues. Whether you choose surgical or nonsurgical treatment plans, and combine those with rehabilitation or general wellness techniques, we're eager to help you return to your normal routine as quickly as possible.
At Advanced Foot and Ankle Care, we make every effort to provide successful treatment without having to operate on your foot. Most of the foot and ankle problems we see can be treated with conservative, nonsurgical care. We will first diagnose the condition and then discuss with you the various treatment options that are available, consulting with you to decide on the treatment that best fits your lifestyle. What may be a good treatment for someone else may not be the best treatment for you.
Depending on the condition, conservative options include oral medication, in-home or more formal physical therapy, over-the-counter or custom-fitted orthotics, cortisone, topical medications, chemocautery, cryotherapy, injections, extra depth or custom-molded shoes and inserts (especially for diabetics), routine foot care (trimming toenails, corns, and calluses). We also provide second opinions when other treatments have been prescribed or attempted.
There are times when surgery is not only the best treatment but the only treatment that will successfully resolve an acute or ongoing problem. Certain foot deformities or other painful conditions may not respond to conservative care; in these cases a surgical approach is warranted. We will discuss various treatment options with you to determine what course of action will best suit your lifestyle. We also provide second opinions when surgery has been previously recommended.
